Joseph Murphy

Associate

Joseph Murphy is an associate in the Providence office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability and Real Estate & Land Use Practices. He has experience representing mortgage servicers, lenders, and title insurance agencies in real estate litigation and title disputes. 

Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Joseph worked at another national law firm where he primarily represented mortgage servicers and lenders in all types of real estate litigation including reformation actions, TILA, TCPA, RESPA, consumer protection, CFPB complaints, and title disputes. In addition to his national law firm experience, Joseph also worked at a local law firm in Massachusetts where he represented mortgage lenders in reformation actions, post-foreclosure evictions, takings, boundary line disputes, and faulty mortgage discharges. He also managed a solo practice in Rhode Island where he represented mortgage lenders involved in post-foreclosure evictions, conducted real estate closings, and was licensed as a title agent. 

Joseph previously served as Managing and Corporate Counsel for a national title insurance agency that operated in all 50 states. In this role he oversaw all closings and title claims for residential, commercial, and default transactions and was licensed as a title agent in various states, including Rhode Island.

While attending law school, Joseph worked as Research Assistant for Professor Robert Kent at Roger Williams University School of Law.
