William R. Moffitt

Partner

William Moffitt is a partner in the San Bernardino office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Healthcare Practice. Mr. Moffitt's practice focuses on the representation of physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and residential care facilities in professional malpractice and elder abuse actions. As a former Superior Court staff research attorney, he has particular expertise in law and motion and the procedural aspects of litigation.

Mr. Moffitt has extensive experience in defending actions involving:

  • Medical Malpractice
  • Long-Term Care liability
  • Elder Abuse litigation
  • Personal Injury

In addition to his extensive experience in defending elder abuse and medical malpractice actions, Mr. Moffitt has also served as a Superior Court staff research attorney and appellate division attorney, where he reviewed and researched thousands of law and motion matters and drafted rulings for the civil judges, and researched and drafted appellate opinions in civil and criminal matters. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Whittier Law School and Chaffey College, where he taught legal research, legal writing, appellate advocacy, evidence, business law and civil procedure. Mr. Moffitt is a graduate of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program at the University of California, Riverside, and a graduate of the Defense Research Institute Trial Academy. He recently served as a member of a select Advisory Committee of the California Judicial Council responsible for drafting and implementing revisions to the California Rules of Court.
