Amy Mitchell

Associate

Amy is an associate in the Savannah office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability, Transportation and Hospitality Practices. Amy also has experience representing employers in employment litigation in state and federal courts, defending actions pertaining to discrimination and fair pay under employment laws such as Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Amy has also represented clients in breach of contract actions and tort claims, and has defended public employers against claims brought under Section 1983 and related constitutional litigation. She has defended employers in agency investigations brought by the U.S. and Georgia Departments of Labor and the EEOC.

Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Amy served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Sharion Aycock of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, and then went on to clerk for Magistrate Judge Kathleen Tafoya of the District of Colorado. 

Amy graduated from the University of Georgia and received her Juris Doctor, cum laude from the University of Mississippi school of Law. While in law school, Amy served as an advanced student within the University's Housing Clinic, where she engaged in complex federal suits brought on behalf of pro bono indigent clients. She has given several seminar presentations relevant to business and human resources, and previously drafted ALFA International’s Compendium on Georgia Employment Law, as well as articles for the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce regarding the unemployment crisis of 2020.
