Dale McLaren is a litigation associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. His practice focuses primarily on insurance defense, insurance coverage, and excess insurance coverage/monitoring. He represents insureds in a broad array of defense matters in both state and federal court, including: civil rights, bodily injury, contractual disputes, and premises liability matters. Dale’s insurance defense work includes investigating and defending claims made against the insureds in addition to handling all phases of litigation, such as preparing Answers to complaints, drafting and responding to discovery demands, engaging in motion practice, arguing motions before the Court, attending Court conferences, and participating in mediations and/or settlement conferences.
Dale also represents insurance carriers and insureds in a wide range of coverage matters involving commercial general liability policies, commercial umbrella/excess policies, commercial auto policies, and commercial property policies. His insurance coverage work also includes the defense of correctional officers, doctors and medical personnel in matters where abuse or cruel and unusual punishment is being alleged against them and pursued as a 1983 constitutional violation claim in federal court.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. McLaren practiced in the complex litigation department at a New York law firm where his focus was to protect and recover the assets of several major banks and mortgage institutions.
