Jade McKenzie is an associate in the Seattle office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Jade's practice primarily includes defending private and public entity employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Jade also represents employers against claims involving wage and hour disputes. Prior to practicing in Seattle, Jade spent several years practicing employment litigation in California where she defended California employers against claims brought under the Fair Employment and Housing Act and violations of the California Labor Code.
In 2018, Jade presented at the Orange County Employment and Workers’ Compensation Law Seminar on defending against wage and hour liability, providing recommendations and best practices for California employers to reduce their risk of exposure. She is also the co-National Editor of Lewis Brisbois’s editorial team, which regularly releases client alerts and legal updates relating to trending topics surrounding employment litigation throughout the country.
Jade was previously an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University School of Law, where she taught a practical course on Civil Procedure. Jade earned her law degree from Chapman and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. During law school, Jade became a DRPA certified mediator through Chapman's mediation clinic where she personally resolved civil harassment and small claims disputes in Riverside County. In her spare time, Jade likes spending time outdoors with her fiancé and their American Eskimo dog, and enjoying their new home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
