Joan B. Lopez is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Ms. Lopez represents employers in employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour matters at the federal and state court levels, as well as before administrative agencies. Ms. Lopez also has experience in drafting handbooks, employment agreements, consulting agreements, and severance packages.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Ms. Lopez was an associate attorney at a full-service law firm in Garden City, New York where she provided advice and counsel, conducted workplace investigations, and represented employers in litigation cases brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, New York Labor Law, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law.
