Craig Leis

Craig Leis is an associate in the Charlotte office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Craig has advised companies of all sizes in a variety of industries on employment law issues, and has defended his clients in employment litigation in state and federal courts across the country.

Throughout his career, Craig has handled his clients’ employment law concerns – including litigation – in a number of geographic regions and jurisdictions, ranging from plaintiff-friendly to neutral to defense-friendly. He understands how the character of where a company faces its employment issues affects how the situation will typically unfold, and uses that knowledge to provide his clients with the most effective legal strategies.

Craig previously served as General Counsel for the North American subsidiary of a large foreign publicly-traded engine manufacturing company. In that role, he was responsible for all legal issues the company faced, including matters concerning employment law compliance and employee relations. He appreciates the challenges facing in-house counsel, especially in the area of employment law, and brings that experience to his work advising and defending his clients.

Craig received his B.A. from The Ohio State University, where he was on the varsity soccer team. He received his J.D. from Capital University Law School, where he was on the Law Review and was a member of the Order of Curia.
