Scott Koontz is a partner in Lewis Brisbois’ Chicago office and a member of the Products Liability and Toxic Tort & Environmental Practices. He focuses upon the defense of companies against claims involving exposure to asbestos, benzene, and other products and materials. In particular, Scott has extensive experience representing Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies who manufactured, supplied, or distributed a wide variety of products. Mr. Koontz has obtained favorable outcomes on behalf of his clients in state and federal courts.

Scott works closely with our clients to identify novel issues and create innovative strategies to best serve their goals and interests.  His experience with the Illinois Appellate Court provides Scott with unique insight, which he combines with his litigation experience to obtain positive results for clients through aggressive motion practice or by leveraging dismissals early in the litigation process.
