Eric Y. Kizirian


Eric Kizirian is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois, a chair of the Class Action & Mass Tort Practice and co-chair of the Consumer Warranty Practice. He specializes in defending class actions and complex litigation. He has litigated class action issues in the United States Supreme Court, in federal and state appellate courts, and various district and state courts across the country. His class action decisions include Lamps Plus, Inc. v. Varela (Class Arbitration, U.S. Supreme Court), Mazza v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Choice-of-Law and Consumer Protection, U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit), Yamada v. Nobel Biocare, Inc. (Class Action Attorney's Fees, U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit), and Daugherty v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Consumer Protection Claims, California Court of Appeal.) These and other decisions have had a profound impact in the law governing class actions in the United States.

Mr. Kizirian has been the lead counsel in the defense of over one hundred putative class actions asserting claims for violations of various consumer protection and warranty laws, including California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Competition Law, and Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Although his experience includes the defense of putative class actions filed against corporations in the medical product, consumer product, technology and insurance industries, Mr. Kizirian has special expertise in defending putative class actions against automobile manufacturers. Throughout his career, he has defended putative class actions filed against BMW, Hyundai, Honda, Maserati, and General Motors. Mr. Kizirian is a member of the Crisis Management Practice and regularly manages crises pertaining to Class Action & Mass Tort matters.

Mr. Kizirian is an officer of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Litigation Section and has also served on the governing board of the Federal Bar Association. He has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" and "Super Lawyer Rising Star" by Los Angeles Magazine, and has an AV Preeminent® Martindale Hubbell Peer rating.
