Dennis Kasper is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Corporate, Business Practices, and Tax Practices. Mr. Kasper has 40 years of experience representing charitable organizations and businesses.

He handles the following types of matters:

  • The formation of charitable organizations and other business structures
  • Tax issues related to the formation and operations of charitable organizations
  • Corporate maintenance of charitable organizations, including board governance
  • The organization and maintenance of churches and other religious charities
  • Assisting charities with the formation and operation of foreign affiliates and related international transactions
  • Representing religious charities in connection with US and state Constitutional issues including the First Amendment
  • All legal matters related to the operations of private schools
  • Real estate and other commercial transactions for charitable organizations
  • Representing churches in connection with RLUIPA matters
  • Advising on employment matters and representing clients in employment litigation
  • Representing clients in commercial disputes and litigation
  • Internal church disciplinary proceedings
  • Resolution of charitable organization membership disputes, including real estate ownership and control disputes
  • Advising and representing charitable clients in sexual misconduct claims
