Michelle Gorman is the Managing Partner of the Weirton, West Virginia Office of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the General Liability Practice. She has over twenty years of experience as a defense litigator and trial attorney in West Virginia and Ohio state and federal courts. Ms. Gorman primarily focuses on general and professional liability defense, and toxic tort and hazardous waste litigation. She has also been defending asbestos claims for nearly twenty years and has experience in defending other toxic exposure cases. Ms. Gorman has represented numerous manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, contractors and premises owners in mass tort litigation. As part of her general liability practice, she represents companies and employers in the oil & gas and coal industries. Ms. Gorman has also assisted with a full array of litigation matters on behalf of railroad clients, including extensive property damage claims.

In addition to her trial experience, she has successfully represented various clients in mediations, settlement conferences, extended pretrial negotiations and has obtained favorable rulings on many dispositive motions.

Michelle is an experienced litigator and counselor, representing clients in employment matters including those involving discrimination, retaliation and harassment, and wage and hour violations. Ms. Gorman has extensive experience in federal and state court in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as in proceedings before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the West Virginia Human Relations Commission.
