Paola Garcia Jurado is an associate in the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practices. She is a dynamic leader with vision, organizational skills, and a record of accomplishments built on creating and maintaining relationships, producing results, and bottom-line growth. Additionally, she is highly versed in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and improving upon existing systems to develop positive change in an equal and diverse way, thereby providing quality service to her Spanish and English-Speaking clients.
Paola is a licensed attorney in Texas and Colombia with over ten years of experience in Construction Law and Commercial Litigation. She has extensive experience in land planning and Urban Law, and holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Paola has served as an advisor for Colombian Mayors, Governors, Senators, and several elected officials in urban development and land planning. While serving as a Cabinet Member for the Governor of Bolívar, Colombia, she presented several proposals for land use and participated as a panelist in forums on city development.
While working as an independent consultant, Paola represented national and foreign investors in the construction industry and has overseen several construction projects. She is particularly proud of several projects she developed in her hometown of Cartagena, Colombia, among which are the Mangrove Spirit Park and The Blue Crab Park where she coordinated and directed most of the activities from conception to completion. These projects are considered excellent examples of urban intervention to improve the environment, security, and coexistence among neighbors of the community.
Paola has also authored articles such as "The North Zone of Cartagena" included in the published book, Textos Convexos: The urban development of Cartagena, which contains the experiences and planning proposals for the development of the City of Cartagena de Indias.
In addition to her work, Paola enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and attending sports events. She is also a Lieutenant of the Colombian Navy Reserve and an English coach for members of the Colombian Army.
