Atanasio “Tacho” Fernandez is an associate in the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions Practices. Tacho's practice covers mergers and acquisitions, commercial lending, real estate transactions, and general corporate governance, advising start-ups and middle market companies on strategic decisions from the early stages through maturity and sale or merger. Tacho also helps foreign and domestic clients navigate cross border transactions, advising clients on international compliance issues arising out of U.S. sanction regimes and import/export control policies.

While born in Mexico, Tacho grew up in Texas. He began his legal career in New York City and moved back to Texas in 2021. Throughout this time, Tacho has serviced clients in the construction and infrastructure, entertainment, hospitality, financial services, and renewable energy industries. During this time, Tacho provided both transactional services, preparing and negotiating contracts and attending to corporate law issues, as well as commercial litigation services.

Tacho earned his J.D. from W&L School of Law, where he served as Lead Article Editor of the international legal journal, German Law Journal. During this time, Tacho presented at a United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime workshop in Tirana, Albania, in connection with the UN's Convention Against Corruption. While attending law school, Tacho also worked as a legal intern for a renewable energy holding company and as a judicial law clerk for the First Court of Appeals of Texas.

In his free time, Tacho enjoys playing soccer and staying active with the ABA's Renewable, Alternative, and Distributed Energy Resources Committee.
