Nolan P. Comfort


Nolan P. Comfort is an associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. He focuses on cases ranging from personal injury to premises liability and property damage, in New York state and federal courts. He also handles complex major case unit matters in both the transportation and construction arenas. As an associate on the New York office’s General Liability team, Nolan reviews and responds to comprehensive discovery demands, conducts and defends depositions, and drafts affirmative and responsive motions.

Prior to joining our firm, Nolan served as Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department’s Tort Division. In this role, he handled a rotating caseload of high-exposure cases from commencement through resolution. His responsibilities included assessing and identifying risk/liability in each matter, and proposing litigation strategies on behalf of the City and its agencies. Nolan also worked as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of New York City, where he handled all aspects of civil litigation, including trials and settlement negotiations.

Nolan has been involved in several organizations dedicated to protecting the rights of the LGBTQ community. He was the Committee Chair of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, and Ally Committee of the New York City Law Department, and was a member of his law school’s LGBT Pro Bono Society.
