Matt Byron is an associate in the Nashville and Los Angeles offices of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability practice.

Matt represents his clients throughout all stages of civil litigation from case inception to completion, including pre-suit and pre-trial investigations and negotiations, written discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, dispositive motion practice, and if necessary, trial preparation. Matt’s General Liability practice focuses primarily on matters involving premises liability, products liability, automotive liability, wrongful death, business and commercial disputes, and construction defects. Matt has successfully defended clients throughout Tennessee and has significant litigation experience in successfully drafting and arguing dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. He is similarly experienced and has been successful in defending against claims for punitive damages, and negotiating settlements. 

Additionally, Matt is also a professional musician and bassist and assists the firm’s Entertainment, Media & Sports practice in connection with a variety of transactions, including recording agreements, publishing agreements, endorsement agreements, and production agreements. He is licensed to practice law in both California and Tennessee. 

Matt is originally from the Chicago area, and is an avid sports fan. Outside of Lewis Brisbois, he enjoys playing music, attending live music shows, cheering for Chicago sports teams, and enjoying Nashville’s food and craft brewery scene with his wife Breanna.
