Richard D. Bissell


Richard Bissell is a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. 

Richard has been actively engaged in the practice of law since 1999 (specifically litigation) representing private clients, local and state government, and insurers, in various litigation matters. He has extensive experience in many forms of civil defense litigation and appellate work including construction defect litigation, employment law, administrative law, civil rights, contracts, medical malpractice, premises liability, product’s liability, and personal injury.  He comes to Lewis Brisbois after gaining extensive experience in assisting public institutions, having worked in government for twelve years both with Utah’s Attorney General’s Office and Salt Lake County, Utah where he defended and provided general legal assistance to various state and county departments, including universities, school districts, and police departments, against active litigation cases.

He is admitted to practice law by the Utah and Colorado (inactive) Supreme Court(s); The United States District Court(s) for the District of Utah and the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; and The United States Sixth and Tenth Circuit Court(s) of Appeals.
