Colby Berman

Colby Berman is a Labor and Employment Law associate in Lewis Brisbois’ New York office. She represents clients in employment disputes, advocating for employers in state and federal courts, in addition to agencies like the EEOC and State Divisions of Human Rights. Colby represents corporate and nonprofit entities in an array of industries, including retail, hospitality, construction, education, healthcare, food services, security services, and restaurants. Colby has also represented cooperative and condominiums in various employment disputes, and is well versed in e-discovery on a number of different platforms.

Colby focuses a bulk of her practice on ADA claims, particularly those involving visually impaired individuals alleging lack of access to websites. She has successfully achieved settlement on more than 50 of these cases, and counting. Colby strives to achieve beneficial results for her clients, whether that entails position statements, mediations, settlement negotiations, or engaging in full-fledged litigation.

Colby is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the nationally ranked Journal of Conflict Resolution. In law school, she also participated in the Intensive Trial Advocacy and Peer Mentor programs, in addition to the Suspension Representation Project where she helped school children dispute disciplinary action. In her free time, she enjoys art, design, and cooking, and takes advantage of the abundant options to partake in these activities in her backyard of New York City.
