Joseph L.J. Appel


Joseph L.J. Appel is an associate in the San Francisco office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. His practice focuses on defending employers against claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, failure to engage in the interactive process, and wage-and-hour violations in state and federal courts. Mr. Appel also represents employers in premises liability and commercial litigation matters.

Mr. Appel represents established companies and local startups alike, always providing thorough analysis, timely updates, and practicable solutions for his clients as he defends them in all stages of litigation.

Mr. Appel also advises his clients on best practices regarding employee discipline and termination, the interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations, and how to proactively identify and reduce potential exposure to future claims.

When not in the office, Mr. Appel enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
