Steven Abbott is a partner in the Las Vegas office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. His practice focuses on cases involving, but not limited to, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, construction, and products liability (ranging from firearm manufacturers to snowmobiles to Segway People Movers, among other products). He has successfully defended numerous clients in cases ranging from premises liability (including the successful defense of water amusement parks and casinos) and negligent security matters, to construction-related issues and contractual disputes. He has argued multiple dispositive motions on behalf of his clients that resulted in complete dismissals.

In addition, Steven has extensive experience in toxic tort cases, especially ones related to asbestos litigation. He has successfully represented numerous asbestos defendants including obtaining orders granting dispositive motions that dismissed his clients with prejudice. He has conducted extensive expert discovery in asbestos litigation that formed the foundation for successful dispositive motions, including motions for dismissal with prejudice. He also has experience defending consumer litigation lawsuits involving allegations of violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) as well as common law tort claims on behalf of creditors.

Steven served as a law clerk with the United States Air Force, and in that role was significantly involved in a complex government procurement integrity violation case. He enjoys winter sports in Lake Tahoe and water-based recreational sports in Southern Nevada with his family.
