Workers’ Compensation Paralegal – San Diego

Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP is seeking a professional, proactive Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to join their dynamic workers’ compensation department in San Diego. Responsibilities for the Workers’ Compensation Paralegal will include — but are not limited to — case management, preparing filings and documents, page line deposition summaries, preparing subpoenas, managing discovery, medical records summaries, trial prep, and legal research. Also, will need assistance attending hearings on asbestos matters, so familiarity with same a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of substantive workers’ comp. experience
  • Able to provide experienced, well-organized and independent paralegal support to attorneys in the  Workers’ Compensation Group
  • Comprehensive knowledge of case management
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities, manage time effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Paralegal will exercise excellent judgment and decision making skills, strong organizational skills
  • Candidates must meet Paralegal qualifications based on California Business and Professions code §6450
