Matthew Pascale is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a vice-chair of the Healthcare, Medical Malpractice, Long Term Care, and Healthcare Regulatory & Compliance Practices. He represents long term care providers, healthcare professionals, senior housing entities, and various business entities in all facets of litigation at trial, arbitration and appeal in healthcare and general liability matters.

Long-Term Care

  • Represents skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, management companies, nursing registries, hospice providers, and other healthcare providers defending actions involving claims of elder and dependent adult abuse, negligence, fraud, and wrongful business practices.
  • Represents healthcare practitioners and long term care entities in regulatory proceedings, administrative law proceedings, and civil trials against the Department of Health, Department of Social Services, and other state agencies.
  • Represents multi state healthcare corporations defending large class action matters involving claims of wrongful business practices, corporate malfeasance, and consumer fraud.

Healthcare

  • Represents medical groups, physicians, chiropractors, therapists, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals against claims of professional negligence in all facets of litigation, including trial and arbitration.
  • Represents healthcare professionals in regulatory and licensing proceedings against the Medical Board, Nursing Board, and other state agencies.

General Liability/Hospitality

  • Property and personal injury claims, for both business and individuals in the litigation and trial of catastrophic injury, wrongful death and complex litigation issues.
  • Represents members of the hospitality industry in all types of disputes in the state and federal courts. Represents hotels and restaurants in litigation involving premises liability, negligent security, liquor liability, and franchise disputes.
  • Regularly defends hotels, casinos, restaurants, sports and entertainment venues, in a wide variety of premises liability actions, including claims for slip/trip-and-fall, criminal conduct of third parties on the premises, negligent security claims, false imprisonment and claims involving food borne illness.
