Nicholas Hurzeler is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a Vice Chair of the Appellate Practice. Nick focuses on appellate work, motions, and trials. He has briefed and argued over 130 appeals in the New York State Appellate Divisions and Second Circuit Court of Appeals, with a strong track record of success. He engages in extensive motion practice in the lower courts, from pre-answer motions all the way through trial and post-trial motions, including numerous summary judgment motions, and motions at the appellate level.

Nick also provides support for our trial attorneys in New York State and federal courts. This includes trial monitoring, motions in limine, preservation of the trial record for appellate review, and oral argument of trial motions. He works closely with our trial attorneys to provide full appellate support in order to obtain the best results for our clients. Nick works on general liability matters, Labor Law, products liability, asbestos, nursing home, insurance coverage and other types of cases. He is also a member of the firm’s lithium-ion battery practice.

Nick consistently gets good results for our clients by way of dismissals and favorable settlement outcomes. He is frequently consulted in high exposure matters and manages a six-member team of appellate attorneys in the New York office. He has a reputation as a “fixer” or problem solver who can untangle difficult legal problems and find innovative solutions.
