Atlanta, Georgia (March 19, 2018) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Joshua D. Curry to its Atlanta office as a partner in the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice.

An experienced litigator with a science degree and considerable technical expertise, Curry has served as lead counsel in patent, intellectual property, and technology litigation cases. He has represented both large and small clients from a variety of industries in cases and matters across a wide range of technologies in courts and proceedings throughout the United States.

“Lewis Brisbois is thrilled to have Josh join us. Josh’s focus on patent litigation and his technical expertise enhance our already-thriving presence in the IP space and in patent litigation in particular,” said Intellectual Property & Technology Chair Dan DeCarlo. “Josh has joined our firm in one of our most dynamic offices where another patent attorney, Nigam Acharya, recently joined us as well. The addition of these two highly specialized lawyers illustrates Lewis Brisbois’ continued dedication to enhancing our ability to represent our clients in any number of complex IP matters.”

Curry’s national practice covers all aspects of IP litigation and related counseling matters, with a particular emphasis on technology cases involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. With a physics degree and considerable technical expertise, Curry is especially adept at handling matters in the computer software and hardware, digital security, and encryption areas. Curry also handles patent and IP litigation involving other technologies, such as consumer products, financial technology, banking and payments, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, including Hatch-Waxman cases.

As a litigator, Curry has handled cases in federal courts across the country from New York to California, including multidistrict litigation matters, cases before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, International Trade Commission, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

“I am excited to join Lewis Brisbois because of the positive culture and cooperative approach the firm takes in cases, and I was impressed by its national scope and growing group of patent and IP litigation veterans. I am very confident that the Lewis Brisbois platform will allow me to provide high-quality patent and IP litigation services at the more competitive and economical rates that clients are requesting with increasing frequency,” Curry said.

In addition to his intellectual property work, Curry litigates cybersecurity and data privacy cases, including under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, Stored Communications Act, and other statutory regimes.

“Josh is a fantastic lawyer and person, and we are excited to have him join our outstanding Intellectual Property & Technology Practice at Lewis Brisbois,” said Atlanta Managing Partner Scott Masterson. “Josh’s addition takes Lewis Brisbois’ Atlanta office to more than 50 attorneys.”
