Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome a seven-lawyer healthcare and insurance defense team led by Partner Malinda A. Miller to its Newark, New York, and Connecticut offices. The team of healthcare professionals based in Newark includes Miller, Partners Alex W. Raybould and Andrea Miller-Jones, and Associates Salvatore D’Elia III, Yelena Shvarts Ferreira, and S. Christopher Martino. Victoria Metaxas will be a partner based out of Lewis Brisbois’ New York and Hartford, Connecticut, offices.

Newark, New Jersey (May 30, 2017) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome a seven-lawyer healthcare and insurance defense team led by Partner Malinda A. Miller to its Newark, New York, and Connecticut offices.

The team of healthcare professionals based in Newark includes Miller, Partners Alex W. Raybould and Andrea Miller-Jones, and Associates Salvatore D’Elia III, Yelena Shvarts Ferreira, and S. Christopher Martino. Victoria Metaxas will be a partner based out of Lewis Brisbois’ New York and Hartford, Connecticut, offices.

The team significantly builds out Lewis Brisbois’ healthcare presence in the northeast, bringing extensive long-term care and medical malpractice experience to Lewis Brisbois along with a bevy of other capabilities.

Miller has been practicing for more than 20 years and has extensive experience on a wide range of civil litigation defense matters at all stages, including those involving issues of premises liability, automotive liability, elevator liability, construction litigation, product liability, employment discrimination, and property damage.

Miller’s practice currently focuses on the defense of long-term care and assisted living facilities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. She has represented numerous facilities in claims involving falls, decubitus ulcers, elopement, medication errors, physical abuse, and dehydration/nutrition.

Miller is joined in Lewis Brisbois’ Newark office by Partners Alex Raybould and Andrea Miller-Jones, who regularly represent medical and nursing professionals, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and long-term care litigation. Associates S. Christopher Martino, Salvatore D’Elia III, and Yelena Shvarts Ferreira will also be based in Newark.

Based out of Lewis Brisbois’ New York and Hartford offices, Partner Victoria Metaxas has more than 20 years of experience handling litigation on a variety of matters at all stages, from inception through trials and appeals. To date, she has successfully tried more than 40 cases to verdict. Her practice currently focuses on defending nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other medical providers from malpractice claims.
