Hartford, Connecticut (January 13, 2016) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Angeline N. Ioannou to its Hartford, Connecticut, office as co-managing partner and a member of the firm’s Healthcare Practice.

Ioannou has been practicing for 20 years, devoting more than 15 years to litigating healthcare matters with a focus on defending professional malpractice claims against nursing homes, physicians, and nurses.

“Lewis Brisbois is excited to have Angie joining our Hartford office as the Co-Managing Partner. Angie’s substantial litigation experience in defending healthcare and long term care professionals, as well as catastrophic personal injury matters, will enhance our regional footprint,” said Los Angeles Partner Steve Lewis, speaking on behalf of Lewis Brisbois’ Management Committee. “With Angie’s addition, Lewis Brisbois continues its strategic growth in the Northeast area.”

“We’re thrilled to have Angeline join us in Hartford. She is an experienced litigation attorney who will serve as an excellent addition to our Healthcare Practice and become part of our overall strategic growth in the Northeast,” said Chris Tauro, Managing Partner of the Boston and Connecticut offices. “With her 20 years of legal experience — the majority of which has been defending complex civil litigation claims — we expand our regional practice areas to provide services to benefit our clients.”

In addition to her healthcare practice, Ioannou has represented insurance carriers, product manufacturers, and global retail and restaurant chains in a broad range of civil litigation involving contract disputes, general tort matters, indemnification issues, product liability claims, and wrongful death under Connecticut’s Dram Shop Act.

“I'm grateful for the opportunity to join this dynamic team! Lewis Brisbois has a long-standing commitment to providing excellent legal services within an inclusive, supportive, and extensive network of sophisticated attorneys that comprise its national complex and healthcare litigation practice,” Ioannou said. “The firm has vast resources in all areas of complex litigation, including my specific area of healthcare, that will provide me with the best environment to serve our clients.”
