Newark, NJ (May 2, 2016) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to announce the addition of a seven-lawyer team to its Newark, New Jersey, office. Led by Partner Peter B. Van Deventer, who also chairs Lewis Brisbois’ nationwide Aviation Practice, the members of the Newark team, formerly of LeClairRyan, focus their practice on the defense of aviation clients across the nation in all areas of aviation law and litigation. Clients include leading domestic and international commercial airlines; aviation product manufacturers; owners and operators of private aircraft entities; and insurers.

Peter B. Van Deventer is a nationally recognized attorney with more than 35 years of experience representing aviation clients in a wide array of matters. Mr. Van Deventer has extensive experience defending clients in aviation-related product liability litigation involving claims of personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage, including representing domestic owners and operators of private aircraft, companies that maintain and repair private aircraft, and commercial airlines. His experience also includes substantial experience in matters involving general product liability, property and casualty, toxic torts, professional liability, and trucking and automobile litigation.
