Vincent Alexander Boosts Lewis Brisbois’ Bankruptcy Practice
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (March 26, 2018) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Vincent Alexander to its Fort Lauderdale office as a partner in the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice.
Alexander has extensive experience in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, out-of-court restructurings, asset sales, and bankruptcy- and insolvency-related litigation. He represents debtors, equity holders, Chapter 7 and liquidating trustees, and unsecured creditors' committees, as well as other creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
“We are very pleased that Vince has decided to join us in our Fort Lauderdale office. Vince was recently selected as one of the top 40 bankruptcy lawyers in the United States under the age of 40 by the American Bankruptcy Institute. Adding him to our team gives the firm a truly national practice in this area,” said Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice Chair Richard Lauter.
Alexander’s bankruptcy work includes representing the corporate owner and operator of a prestigious golf facility on the west coast of Florida, two debtors that owned a hotel-condominium and condominium units in Florida, and the largest creditor in a complex Chapter 11 proceeding of an engineering company.
“I’m excited to join a firm with the national platform that Lewis Brisbois offers and help with the expansion of its corporate practice group, and I look forward to working with such esteemed and welcoming colleagues,” Alexander said.
In addition to bankruptcy and insolvency matters, Alexander has substantial experience successfully representing clients across a wide range of industries in complex litigation matters, including fraud, trade secret and restrictive covenants, breach of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, fiduciary issues, and sports and entertainment.
Alexander is also a certified fraud examiner. Some of his representative matters have included recovering fraudulently withheld capital investments for a departed partner in an international real estate development project and representing professional athletes in fraudulent investment matters.
“Vince brings solid local debtor and creditor rights experience here in South Florida, complementing our national bankruptcy and complex business litigation practices. We are thrilled to have him as a resource for our clients,” said Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner and Corporate Practice Chair Michael G. Platner.
Before becoming a lawyer, Alexander was a linebacker in the NFL with the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals.
