Lewis Brisbois Welcomes Mary Smigielski to Chicago Office

Chicago, Illinois (September 5, 2017) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Mary Smigielski to its Chicago office as a partner in the Employment & Labor Practice.

Smigielski joins Lewis Brisbois after nearly a decade in-house at a Fortune 100 company and brings with her extensive experience handling employment matters.

Smigielski started her career in private practice, where she spent 14 years handling a range of employment and other business and litigation matters in industries ranging from financial services to healthcare. She regularly engaged in complex and single-plaintiff litigation, nationwide counseling, and sensitive workplace investigations, among other employment matters.

In moving in-house, Smigielski supervised litigation for more than 100,000 employees nationwide, engaged in cost-sensitive litigation management for class and collective actions, and negotiated highly favorable settlements. Her duties also included counseling management on all aspects of the employee life cycle, auditing employment practices, conducting due diligence for deals, crisis management, and developing and revising employment policies.
