Lewis Brisbois Welcomes Father-Son Pair to Business Services Practice
Dallas, Texas (Aug. 22, 2016) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome father-son duo John and Taylor Vernon to its nationwide Business Services Practice. John will join Lewis Brisbois’ Dallas office as a partner, while Taylor will be an associate in Los Angeles.
John Vernon brings with him more than 30 years of experience representing clients in governmental compliance, trade, and customs and international and domestic transactions, while Taylor Vernon has focused his practice on national and international corporate law, international trade compliance, franchise and distribution, and entertainment law.
“Lewis Brisbois has enjoyed unprecedented growth over the last few years, and adding corporate transactional attorneys with John and Taylor’s experience, energy, and client following will only help fuel additional growth,” said Dallas Managing Partner Christopher C. White. “More importantly, John and Taylor embrace the firm’s culture of collaboration, cross-marketing, and providing superior client services at competitive rates, and I’m very excited to have them join Lewis Brisbois.”
John Vernon has represented clients in all stages of business growth, from Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies to start-up research and development firms. He also has experience successfully ushering clients through the expansion process to become multinational enterprises.
With a thorough knowledge of international law, antitrust, franchise, entertainment law, and state and federal regulations, John Vernon is skilled at counseling clients through the legal system in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
“After lengthy mutual due diligence, Lewis Brisbois looks like a really strong match,” John Vernon said. “With pending trade agreements ramping up and governments changing their foreign investment regulations, now is the perfect time for our two firms to join forces to advise clients on their trade, indirect taxation, and customs compliance issues.”
John Vernon’s son, Taylor Vernon, has trained under him and managed the Los Angeles office of their previous firm for the past few years. He has a passion for international and domestic corporate deals and is able to provide clients with the practical advice needed to enhance their business prospects.
“In addition to our trade compliance practice, we look forward to pairing our transactional franchise and corporate practice with the strong franchise litigation team at Lewis Brisbois,” Taylor Vernon said.
