Lewis Brisbois Expands West Coast Admiralty Practice

San Francisco, CA (August 1, 2016) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Lynn L. Krieger to its San Francisco office as a partner in the Admiralty, Maritime & Energy Litigation Practice.

Krieger will help expand the practice’s presence on the West Coast, where she will apply her expertise defending clients in maritime personal injury and cargo matters.

“After joining Lewis Brisbois three and a half years ago from a regional marine and energy firm, clients began approaching me regarding abilities in other parts of the country where they had few contacts. San Francisco was a particular area of interest,” said Admiralty, Maritime & Energy Litigation Practice Chair Jenny E. Michel.

“As chair of the Admiralty, Maritime & Energy Litigation Practice, I saw an opening, prompted by client need, to develop a full West Coast maritime practice. Lewis Brisbois has maritime attorneys in Los Angeles and San Diego, so we began our search for the right attorneys in San Francisco to make it happen,” Michel said. “One name surfaced repeatedly as highly regarded, not only in San Francisco, but nationwide. We are thrilled to announce we were able to secure her as our first San Francisco maritime attorney. Welcome Lynn Krieger!”

Krieger has more than 15 years of experience handling cases and claims for cargo losses at sea and on land. She routinely represents property owners, vessel owners, supply chain logistics providers, employers, and insurance carriers in both federal and state courts.

She also prepares, negotiates, and litigates contracts and service arrangements for business clients utilizing intermodal transportation.

“I’m very excited about joining the Lewis Brisbois community, as I’ve been so impressed with the people I’ve met at the firm. I look forward to getting the San Francisco maritime practice off the ground and collaborating with a maritime group in another state,” Krieger said.

Krieger currently chairs the Website and Technology Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and was on the board of directors for the Maritime Law Association. She was also an advisor for the University of San Francisco’s Maritime Law Journal.

She has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer every year from 2012 to 2016.

Krieger received her bachelor’s degree from Pomona College in 1991 and her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2000.
