Lewis Brisbois Expands IP Capabilities with Hire of Nigam Acharya

Atlanta, Georgia (January 30, 2018) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Nigamnarayan “Nigam” Acharya to its Atlanta office as a partner in the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice.

Acharya’s practice includes both litigation and client counseling in a variety of intellectual property issues, particularly those involving patent and trademark law. He has particular experience in patent and trademark disputes, prosecution, and large-scale registration and enforcement projects.

“Our firm continues to develop one of the most impressive benches of IP talent from across the technical arts. Nigam’s expertise in commercial and patent disputes coupled with his expertise in the hard sciences, including biochemistry and physics, makes him a tremendous addition to our firm and an asset to our clients,” said Intellectual Property & Technology Chair Dan DeCarlo. “Though Nigam’s practice is nationwide in scope, his presence in our Atlanta office further buttresses our capabilities in the southeast.”

Acharya focuses his practice on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for a variety of clean or green technologies, including recycling, material separations, and water technologies. He also has extensive experience in trademark portfolio management.

In addition to his work with green technologies, Acharya has extensive experience handling Hatch-Waxman matters for pharmaceutical clients.
