Richard Wolf Article Discusses Coverage for Counterfeit Wine

Los Angeles Partner Richard Barnett Wolf analyzed a California Court of Appeal ruling regarding a property insurance claim for counterfeit wine in an article titled “Court Waxes Shakespearean in Denying Property Insurance Claim for Counterfeit Wine,” the latest for his “Wolf Bites” column in the Claims Journal.

The article notes that the court quoted from Othello in rendering its opinion, which found that the policyholder’s property insurance policy for valuable possessions did not cover losses that the policyholder suffered after buying almost $18 million of what he thought to be rare, valuable vintage wine that turned out to be counterfeit.
