Jennifer M. Yang is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Ms. Yang defends employers in individual, multi-plaintiff and class action cases alleging claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the California Labor Code, and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Most recently, in March 2018, Ms. Yang defeated a former truck driver’s attempt to certify a federal class action case regarding alleged claims for violations of various California wage and hour laws asserted against a national trucking company, venued in the Central District of California. Additionally, in April 2018, Ms. Yang prevailed on summary judgment in its entirety against a former independent contractor attempting to assert claims for FEHA age discrimination and wrongful termination in federal court.
Ms. Yang also assists clients with pre-litigation resolution of employment disputes and provides general counseling and advice to employers in all aspects of state and federal employment law compliance.

Ms. Yang has substantive litigation experience, where she has appeared and argued at pre-trial motion hearings and final status conferences, drafted pleadings, ex parte applications, motions and oppositions, including motions in limine, and trial documents, and conducted factual investigations and discovery. She has also taken and defended depositions of lay and expert witnesses. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, Ms. Yang practiced employment law litigation at a prestigious employment litigation firm representing clients in wrongful termination cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, and failure to engage in the interactive process.
