Lauren Virene is an associate in the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Medical Malpractice Group. She concentrates her practice on defending physicians, nurses, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals in medical malpractice lawsuits. Lauren is also experienced in representing clients in peer review proceedings and defending physicians before the Texas Medical Board from the initial complaint through the Informal Settlement Conference and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. In addition to representing healthcare providers, she has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including premises liability claims, contract disputes, shareholder disputes, and the prosecution of trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Lauren earned her Juris Doctor in 2013 from the University of Houston Law Center. While at the University of Houston, Lauren served as a Senior Articles Editor on the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. Lauren also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Harold R. DeMoss, Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 from Texas A&M University.
