Stephanie J. Tanada is an associate in the San Bernardino office and a member of the General Liability Practice. Ms. Tanada focuses primarily in the defense of public entities, including government tort liability, defense of police officers and police departments against allegations of false arrest and false imprisonment, Federal and State civil rights and constitutional violations, excessive force, wrongful death, and assault and battery. In addition, Ms. Tanada practices employment law, including defense of wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment, brought under state and federal law, including race, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, age, and religious discrimination and harassment. She also has experiencing defending claims before the State of California Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Ms. Tanada is a legal instructor for K9 handlers from various law enforcement agencies in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. She teaches the P.O.S.T. Legal Update course for K9 handlers and the Basic K9 Handler Civil Liability course at Adlerhorst International, Inc.
