Michelle A. Pope is an associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois. Her practice focuses on product liability, environmental and mass tort law. She is responsible for defending asbestos, chemical sensitivity, and other toxic tort related cases throughout New York State and in Federal Court. She handles all aspects of civil defense up to and including trial.

Before joining Lewis Brisbois, Michelle was an Assistant District Attorney with Kings County District Attorney’s Office. Michelle prosecuted a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony cases in the Trial Zones, and went on to represent the District Attorney as well as employees in civil suits in the Civil Litigation Unit. Michelle also has experience defending multi-million dollar lawsuits involving both negligence and intentional torts. 

Michelle received her JD from Notre Dame Law School in 2014, where she was presented with the Jon Krupnik Award for Trial Excellence and graduated from The University of Georgia in 2011 with a BA in Sociology. While at Notre Dame, Michelle was awarded the Stanley Presier Law Student Award for Trial Advocacy after winning first place in the American Association for Justice 2014 Student Trial Advocacy Competition.
