Matt Morris is a partner in the Madison County, Illinois office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the following practices: Asbestos Litigation, Business Practices, General Liability, and Healthcare. The Madison County office is located 25 miles from St. Louis, Missouri and serves Central and Southern Illinois and the eastern half of Missouri. Over the years, Mr. Morris has split his practice between the defense of litigation and business consulting.
Mr. Morris has extensive litigation experience in all aspects of managing complex litigation including successfully drafting and arguing dispositive motions, defending against claims for punitive damages, developing and implementing strategies, conducting and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, assisting with all aspects of trial preparation and trying cases to verdict.
Mr. Morris got involved in business consulting as a result of his family’s businesses in Southern Illinois. Mr. Morris’ specific industry experience includes defense of negligence actions on behalf of healthcare entities, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, personal care homes, and skilled nursing facilities; representation of businesses in formation, dissolution, risk management and mitigation, alternative dispute resolution; defense of manufacturers, premises owners, distributors and contractors; and defense of a wide variety of general casualty claims.
