Wes Krueger is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and an experienced litigator in the firm’s Labor and Employment Group. His practice focuses exclusively on representing employers in all aspects of employment law, including litigation, counseling, training, and policy development.
Wes brings a personal, solution-oriented approach when helping his clients navigate the intricacies of California employment law. He assists employers large and small in a variety of industries, including health care, transportation, restaurant and hospitality, manufacturing, and retail. Wes routinely defends companies regarding a range of complex employment issues including:
- Wrongful termination
- Wage and hour class actions and PAGA representative actions,
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Disability accommodation
- Retaliation
- Executive employment contract disputes
- Drug testing and privacy issues
Wes has extensive experience litigating employment matters before state and federal courts, as well as various administrative agencies such as the California Civil Rights Department, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the California State Labor Commissioner.
In February 2023, Wes was instrumental in securing a unanimous defense verdict for a client in a high-exposure federal trial. The plaintiff alleged that his employer failed to accommodate him and discriminated against him due to his chronic back pain. He sought over $15 million in economic and non-economic damages, as well as punitive damages. At trial, Wes and the Lewis Brisbois trial team demonstrated that the employer was not aware of any limitations on the plaintiff’s ability to perform his job, and lawfully terminated the plaintiff after he failed a mandatory pre-employment drug test.
In addition to his litigation and trial practice, clients turn to Wes for help in avoiding litigation, for counseling and training, and for help in drafting, implementing, and administering policies and procedures. Wes provides preventative employment counseling to clients regarding internal investigations, employee privacy rights, reductions in force, terminations, and employee discipline. He regularly presents employment management training seminars and speaks on topics such as workplace investigations, harassment and discrimination prevention, and compliance with wage and hour law.
