PJ Bottari is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Construction Practice. He focuses his legal practice on litigating and defending high-profile negligence actions involving catastrophic injuries, usually resulting from construction accidents, as well as defending public and private landlords against lead poisoning claims. PJ has represented municipalities in toxic tort cases as well as many other types of municipal liability matters. He is a trial lawyer, and a past member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only organization for attorneys who display exceptional skill, civility and integrity.

PJ is particularly effective at the art of cross-examination of experts, and he speaks on the subject to client groups and other attorneys. He specializes in cross-examining health care professionals and economists, particularly experts involved in the treatment of neurological disorders and mental health conditions. It is not unusual for him to be called in during a trial to provide advice on or actually perform such cross-examinations.

PJ’s successful resolution of construction litigation often involves unraveling complex issues related to liability and other aspects of insurance coverage. He provides counsel and advice and defends personal injury claims that arise in the construction industry.

Toxic Tort
PJ is considered an authority in the area of toxic torts, and he has organized and participated in numerous seminars and he speaks nationally on toxic exposure litigation. He has authored and co-authored articles in a variety of legal journals, including several articles on lead paint issues. He is co-author of the definitive book, A Complete Guide to Lead Paint Poisoning Litigation, published by the American Bar Association.
