Office Clerk – Indian Wells

The Indian Wells office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith, LLP is seeking an office clerk preferably with experience within a law firm or other similar corporate environment. Ideal candidates should be quick learners, articulate, have a professional appearance and demeanor, and above all else, possess excellent phone skills and manners.


  • Receive and record oral information from telephone callers or in person, and then communicate it to attorneys and staff. Operate a multi-line telephone console in order to relay incoming and outgoing calls
  • Welcome all guests and notify attorneys and/or staff of their arrival
  • Direct telephone calls to appropriate attorneys and staff
  • Sign for, receive and record deliveries to the firm and/or individuals in the firm and route accordingly to the proper recipient
  • Schedule conference rooms and visiting attorney offices, and set up conference rooms for meetings
  • Prepare coffee, and restock kitchen with supplies
  • Maintain neatness of reception area and conference rooms
  • Ensures guests are offered beverages and are comfortable in the reception area
  • Scanning and uploading documents
  • Managing client files, electronic filing
  • Sort, classify and code material for indexing and filing and/or data entry into a computerized system
  • Re-shelving files in the appropriate location
  • Retrieval and routing of incoming mail
  • Monitor and order supplies, restock shelves
  • Employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in addition to overtime hours as necessary
  • Reliable, consistent attendance in the office is required


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of experience in a similar position, preferable within a law firm environment


  • Intermediate skills using MS Word and type a minimum of 50 wpm; strong Outlook skills
  • Prior experience using a data base is helpful but not mandatory
  • Proficiency using a multi-line phone system, copier, scanner, fax and printer
  • Detailed and accurate when processing information
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
